We’re seeking a new team member with experience in building and maintaining client relationships who is keen on a flexible role and wants to take their career to the next level in a fun and purpose-led environment.

What does the role involve?

– Building on our existing relationships and creating new ways to engage with our government partners.

– Understanding their needs and developing responses based around our suite of programs and products.

– Fostering new relationships and supporting business development.

– Input on the direction of the organisation, especially in relation to our goals of growing our programs and becoming the go-to “friendly experts” in digital government.

– Collaborating with the rest of the team to streamline processes and workflow.

– You’ll be a public ‘face’ of Code for Australia – spreading the word about what we do and the value we offer to our friends in government.

– 3-4 days of effort per week and you can choose times and days that work for you.

– The salary for this role is $91,500k + superannuation, prorated.

Day-to-day activities

Collaboration

– Working closely with our Marketing, Product and Strategy functions
– Input on development of new Products
– Input on development of Marketing activities

Engagement

– Consulting with existing and potential government partners around new projects
– Managing ongoing relationships with key government contacts
– Preparing proposals and submitting responses to partner briefs
– Research and learning from past and unsuccessful engagements

Sales

– Lead generation and research
– Sales operations, maintaining data, reporting

3 months in

YOU WILL HAVE…

– Gotten to know our team and how we work together

– Built your understanding of Civic Tech and all levels of Australian Government

– Met with 3 existing government partners to learn about the value Code for Australia has provided for them

– Introduced yourself to our community at an Open House event

6 months in

YOU WILL HAVE…

– Built on our CRM system to capture data about our partners and their needs

– Developed and presented 3 proposals for programs to existing or new partners

– Drafted your own professional development plan and met targets for the first quarter of an annual cycle

12 months in

YOU WILL HAVE…

Converted a proposal for multiple programs of work with a government partner

Who are we?

We work to create a government that’s designed for and built by everyone. You’d be joining our Base Team – a group of three currently based in Melbourne who work remotely. We’re open to people based around Australia.

We work collaboratively with clearly defined roles and responsibilities. As a small team we value flexibility and have each other’s backs in busier times. We test ideas and provide opportunities to have your say on the shape of the organisation and your own role
